Rates from £26 per person

All our rooms are en suite - with bath and shower, have tea making facilities, clock radio, television, a hair dryer and Wi Fi. All double beds are king-size. Prices are per person per night (pppn) for double occupancy, and include a (very) full breakfast. The longer you stay, the better the rate.

For single occupancy, there is a supplement of £10 per night.

Our ground floor double room has direct outside access to the patio, and our large first floor room, with its adjoining private sitting room, can be let either as a double or a twin-bedded room. Our twin bedded room is also on the first floor.

Your pets are welcome, at no extra charge. Please see our animals page .

The optional evening meal is £19 per person. For those who find our large 3 course dinners too much, we offer a 2 course option ( starter + main, or main + puds) for £16, or the main course only, for £13 . Your dinner for your first night's stay must be booked in advance.

We are not licensed, but you are welcome to bring your own wine. There is no corkage charge.

Please note that we do NOT take cards. We normally expect payment in cash or with a cheque. Deposits can be made by cheque or by bank transfer. PayPal can be used for deposits; particularly useful for our overseas guests. We do not accept PayPal for the final bill because of the large commission they charge. If you've paid the deposit by bank transfer, you can use our WiFi to pay the final bill this way - if you've brought your laptop.

Fern Tor Booking Conditions

We have a just a few conditions which we trust will make life easier for you and us if you are aware of them in advance of your stay …..

You are welcome to arrive at Fern Tor any time after 2 PM; this allows us to get your room ready. If you wish to arrive earlier to drop off your bags, please let us know.

Please would you vacate your room by 11 AM at the end of your stay, so we have time to get it ready for the next guests.

Please note that we usually serve dinner at 7 PM and that we are strictly a non-smoking guest house.

We normally ask for a deposit upon booking, the balance is due when you leave. If you need to cancel all or part of your booking, we shall make every effort to re- let the room(s). If we are able to re-let the room(s) for the period of your stay your deposit will be refunded in full.

Where we are unable to re-let the room(s) either wholly or partly for the period of your stay, we reserve the right to recover our actual losses, especially during busy periods. This would normally be the value of the reservation, less that of any re-letting and your deposit.

In the unlikely event of us having to cancel your booking we will give you as much notice as possible and refund your deposit in full.

We don’t like having to impose these conditions, but a number of last minute cancellations have resulted in significant losses for our small guest house, and disappointed others who we had to turn down.
